SOP Standard Operating Procedure

The Importance of SOP's – Objectives

  • 1: To achieve efficiency, quality output and uniformity of performance, while reducing miscommunication and failure, and to comply to industry regulations.
  • 2: The goal is set on repeated application of unchanged processes and procedures and its documentation, hence supporting the segregation of origins, causes and effects.
  • 3: Further application is with triage, when limited resources get used according to an assessment on ranking, urgence and staffing possibilities.
  • 4: SOPs can also provide employees with a reference to common business practices, activities, or tasks. New employees use an SOP to answer questions without having to interrupt supervisors to ask how an operation is performed.
  • 5: The international quality standard ISO 9001 essentially requires the determination of processes (documented as standard operating procedures) used in any manufacturing process that could affect the quality of the product.
01/SOP of Repackaging Cargo with Paper Sack and Palletizing

    Goals

  • 1.11 Clarify the procedure of repackaging cargo with paper sacks and ensure the quality of the packaging.
  • 1.12 To avoid making mistakes or damaging the paper sacks while placing them.
  • 1.13 To prevent claims for errors during re-packaging or palletizing.

Descriptions

Pour the products packaged in 25 kg pp woven bags into 25 kg paper sacks, and then palletizing the paper sacks as required.

Standard operation procedure

  • 1. Before repackaging the products, the workers need to clean the ground first, and then cover a plastic film on the ground. By doing so, the paper sack will remain clean, and contamination is avoided.
  • 2. Untie the 25 Kg woven bag of products and inspect is thoroughly by eye. Pour the materials into the 25 Kg paper bags after inspecting no other material has entered the bag.Report to supervisor immediately if any alien material has been found.
  • 3. Do not seal the paper sack immediately the products are filled in. You should fill all the empty paper sacks accordingly and then follow the next step.
  • 4. All 40 paper sacks of cargo must be checked carefully to insure they are qualified.
  • 5. Sampling of the products The detail information like particle size, batch number and serial number should be clearly marked and recorded when taking samples. The weight for selecting samples should be above 500g, this will ensure the quantity for overall analysis and tests.
  • 6. Stacking Standard for paper sacks
  • 7. Standard for packing straps of paper sacks
  • 8. Standard on plastic shrink film (around paper sacks)
  • 9.1.39Wrapping standard
02/Storage – SOP

    Goals

  • 1.To have a clear understanding of SOP's regarding warehousing and storage. To ensure raw materials and (semi-) final products are stored properly.
  • 2.To prevent quality problems of in storage raw materials and finished goods.
  • 3.To avoid claims from clients regarding errors in warehouse, packaging, and transport.

Descriptions

A scientific approach to storage is highly needed during the complete process; from the moment raw materials enter the factory, and the finished product being dispatched to the client.
All materials are stored to prevent water, dust, and moist from effecting them.

Standard operation procedure

03/Shipping & Container Loading – SOP

    Goals

  • 1.To guarantee packaging quality.
  • 2.To prevent packaging damage during shipment and (un-) loading of goods.
  • 3.To prevent claims upon container arrival at the POD.

Descriptions

Key processes to control are:
1. loading of paper bags on pallets.
2. loading of pallets into container (both in-house and external loading).

Standard operation procedure

  • 1.Before the truck leaves the factory, the machine-foiled goods on pallets will be covered by a water resistant tarp.
  • 2.Damaged and moist packaging is not allowed in the container.
  • 3.The container must at least 70% new. If it is not, it must be replaced by one that is immediately.
  • 4.Stacking of pallets must follow pre-determined tolerances in terms of spaces between and locations of pallets.
  • 5.Distance between rows of pallets must be at least 80 mm.
  • 6.Tolerances must be followed according to requirements.
  • 7.Pictures must be clear and have a size of at least 300 Kb.
